Delicious Caramel Water Chestnut Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- Pan Tang Pure Water Chestnut Flour 250g
- Mount Elephant Water Chestnuts (Sliced) 454g
- Fuxing Rock Sugar 125g
- Granulated Sugar 125g
- Water 2 cups of 500ml
Step 1. Cut the water chestnuts into small pieces.
Step 2. Heat 125g of granulated sugar until it turns into golden brown caramel.
Step 3. Add 500ml of water to the heated granulated sugar, then add 125g of rock sugar and the chopped water chestnuts.
Step 4. Mix 500ml of water with 250g of water chestnut powder.
Step 5. Add the water chestnut powder mixture to the caramelized sugar, rock sugar, and water chestnut mixture.
Step 6. Pour into a mould.
Step 7. Steam for 20 minutes, to ensure proper cooking and infusion of flavours.
Step8. Allow it to cool gradually overnight, allowing the ingredients to settle and the dish to reach an optimal texture and taste.
