We’re Hiring Part-time Shop Assistant - Starry Mart Colchester

Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? Starry Mart Colchester is looking for a Part-Time Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team!

About the Role

As a Shop Assistant, you will support the Shop Manager with daily operations, including assisting customers with orders, handling phone inquiries, and ensuring smooth shop operations.

Location: Starry Mart Colchester, 143 Caelum Drive, Colchester, Essex, CO2 8FN 
Schedule: Mondays to Sundays based on shift
Salary: Minimum Wage 

 

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Stock Management: Receiving, unpacking, and arranging new shipments from suppliers and vendors.

  • Product Display: Arranging and labeling goods on display shelves to maintain a tidy and attractive store layout.

  • Customer Assistance: Helping customers locate products and providing personalized shopping advice.

  • Payment Processing: Handling customer payments efficiently at the checkout.

  • Customer Support: Addressing inquiries and resolving complaints with a positive attitude.

  • Store Maintenance: Cleaning and organizing the store to ensure it remains a welcoming environment.

  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to maintain a clean and organized sales floor.

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking candidates who embody the following:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.

  • Team Spirit: A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and accuracy in all tasks.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to handle customer inquiries and challenges.

  • Language Skills: Mandarin or Cantonese speaking is preferred but not required.

  • Positive Attitude: Friendly and professional demeanor toward customers and colleagues.
