Karaage is a common Japanese cooking technique in which chicken is deep fried. Pieces of chicken are marinated in a mix of soy sauce, garlic and or ginger, then lightly coated with a seasoned wheat flour and fried in oil. Ajinomoto Karaage uses carefully selected chicken of the highest quality, delivering a tender and juicy texture and rich in umami taste.

Japanese style crispy fried chicken

Small pieces of chicken are marinated in a mix of soy sauce, garlic, and/or ginger, then lightly coated with a seasoned wheat flour or potato starch mix, and fried in a light oil


Chicken meat 61%, water, soy oil, maize starch, wheat flour, rice flour, soy sauce 2.2% (water, soy bean, wheat, salt, alcohol), ginger 1.6%, rice vinegar, flavour enhancer (E621), garlic, sugar, spices (paprika, white pepper), emulsifier (E451), salt, acidity regulator (E500).

Cooking Instructions:

For best results cook from frozen. 
*Deep Fry: Fry at 170°C - 180°C for about 4 minutes 30 seconds. 
*Pan Fry: Pour the oil into a heated frying pan and put frozen product into frying pan. Then Pan fry for 8 - 10 minutes continuously turning. 
*Oven: Cook in a pre-heated oven at 220 °C for about 12 minutes.
