We’re Hiring Full-time Warehouse Staff - Colchester

About the Role

As a Warehouse Staff member, your primary responsibility will be ensuring smooth warehouse operations by performing various essential tasks. You’ll play a key role in receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and preparing orders for shipment, all while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Job Type: Full-time, Fixed-term contract
Schedule: 5 days per week
Salary: From £11.44 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and Unloading Shipments: You’ll start each day by unloading incoming shipments, inspecting them for damages, and verifying them against invoices or delivery documents.

  • Inventory Management: Sorting, organizing, and safely storing goods in designated areas. You’ll ensure everything is easy to locate and inventory counts are accurate.

  • Order Picking and Packing: Accurately picking items from stock and preparing them for shipment. This includes packaging, labeling, and creating shipping documentation.

  • Forklift Operation: Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move large or heavy items efficiently.

  • Maintaining a Safe and Clean Workspace: Ensuring the warehouse remains clean, organized, and safe to minimize the risk of accidents.

  • Inventory Counts: Performing routine inventory counts and reconciling any discrepancies to ensure stock levels are always accurate.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or similar setting is preferred, but we welcome candidates who are eager to learn.

  • Forklift Experience: While forklift operation experience is preferred, it is not essential. If you have experience, that’s a bonus.

  • Attention to Detail: A key component of the role is ensuring that all inventory is handled accurately, so strong attention to detail is essential.

  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking are required.

  • Physical Stamina: You’ll be on your feet for most of the day and need to handle physical tasks such as lifting and carrying.
